James started his career in hair styling
back in 1997, working as an apprentice for the Shears Group in Croydon, and attending college in Bromley.
In 1999 James completed his NVQ's levels 1&2 in hairdressing and in customer services, and was promoted to junior stylist and colour technician. Over the next 3 years James was involved in many in-house competitions, winning 'Junior of the Year'.
While being promoted through the ranks to the position of Senior Stylist, James completed many courses including L'Oreal's Colour Keys and Advanced Colour Keys.
In 2002 James left Croydon to work in the flag ship salon of Charles Worthington on Percy Street, in London's West End.
As well as working in the salon 5 days a week, James continued with his training by attending many more courses and training days, including Advanced Colour and Advanced Cutting with Charles Worthington, James was also involved with the Art Team at Charles Worthington, working on magazine shoots for 19 Magazine and styling hair for fashion designer Julian McDonald at London Fashion Week.
After a few years working in London's West End, James decided it was time for another challenge. He became an established free lance stylist and colour technician and now manages his own company.
All of the stylists at James Blaquiere have trained and worked in the finest salons in London, including Shears, Rush, Regis at Harvey Nichols and Charles Worthington. Stylists are also trained to the highest level with L'Oreal colouring systems.
